If you’re using a mobile app to live stream for your business or brand – you are live streaming WRONG!
Just broadcaster, is a streamlined affordable external encoder that works on Mac or Windows and will give you some great features including:
Scene templates to create quick set ups, Lower thirds, Scrolling text, and access multiple video and audio inputs. BUT that’s not all Just broadcaster for facebook hooks in to the facebook API and gives you some awesome extras.
First because it’s API Connected you can login and stream easily through your facebook account (no dealing with stream keys).
You can create facebook polls using the built in emojis (this is a feature other third parties offer for more than the price of this software)
And finally one of my favorite features, you can easily display comments from your viewers which makes them engage more!
Today we’re going to look at the basics to get your started, creating polls and displaying comments.
To add new scenes Hit the + button next to the Scene thumbnail and new templates will show up. You can add a transition, and it you’re adding a video Auto Play/pause media files will start playing the clip immediately upon switching to that scene if enabled. You can add several setups and switch between them and they are automatically assigned a HotKey, on the Mac it’s Command followed by a number allowing you to switch scenes from the keyboard.
Once you’ve picked a scene click the scene you want to edit. Mouse over the gray box you want to work in and you’ll get 4 options; Video Device, Screenshot, Image or Video Clip.
To add a video Click the webcam and a window opens with a list of all your camera inputs. Click the one you want
You’ll then get options to add color filters, crop, Do Chroma key and adjust the resolution – and these will appear for the other options as well. If you’ve plugged your iPhone in that will appear here as an option to share your phone’s screen. It must be tethered.
For screensharing hit the little computer icon and a list of your windows appears, including ‘Screen’ which is a catch all for everything. But you can narrow it down to specifically the window for that presentation you’re working on. You have the option to include your cursor or hide it.
The little image icon will let you upload an image
The last Icon lets you add a video with sound. Once selected you’ll be get options to Rewind, Play/Loop and Play/Pause. Again if you’ve selected Autoplay media it will play switching to that scene.
At the bottom of you preview window you’ll see 6 round blue buttons, from left to right these are: Headphones, Settings, Text Overlays, Add Sound Source, Record and Broadcast.
Headphones on/off, Add Audio Source, Record. Settings Lets you do a few things including add a background and logo of your own.
The ABC icon will bring up a window with three tabs, Lower Thirds, Scrolling Text and Facebook Voting. Each of these will have a drop down that gives you about a pre made themes
Lower thirds & scrolling text are pretty intuitive. Enter the text you want, select the theme and hit the Play icon to make it appear on screen. Lower Thirds will automatically disappear after the ‘Duration’ of seconds that set. But you can also hide them with ‘Hide Now’.
Once you’ve started your stream and gotten some active viewers you can easily post those comments on the screen.
Just broadcaster is one of the ONLY encoders that gives you a built in facebook polling option. You can set up a poll with the facebook emojis, you’ll get a live readout on screen and again you can use the customize tool to build your own template.
Once you’ve got everything set up to go hit that On Air button.
And I’ll see YOU on my Coffee Morning live stream next Monday – Friday at 5am PST on http://facebook.com/samproofhttp://www.samproof.tv/2018/01/10/justbroadcaster-for-facebook-live-intro-tutorial/https://i0.wp.com/www.samproof.tv/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/maxresdefault-1.jpg?fit=1024%2C576https://i0.wp.com/www.samproof.tv/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/maxresdefault-1.jpg?fit=150%2C84Articles/ReviewFeaturedvideofacebook,facebook live, facebook live polls, how to,justbraodcaster for facebook, live streaming, sam proof, samproof, tutorial,Video, youtube
