Japan Week in New York – Takumi Japan
Along time ago I made a choice to come to Los Angeles, my other choice was New York and I don’t often pay attention to things in New York, out of sight our of mind and thus no regrets! 😉 . Both our cities have a lot of culture and events and cool people. I was sent this link recently to http://japanweek.us/ and as I started to look over the pictures and videos, I could smell wasabi rushing up my nostrils and fresh rice and sushi nearby.
I started to get just a little jealous about what NY had going on; At Japan Week last weekend Takumi Japan caught my eye – if you know anything about me it’s two things 1) I love good coffee and 2 ) and a tech junkie – if only they made whiskey and pizza products they’d have the full trifecta… quadfecta of my interests 😉
Takumi Japan is a project to bringing small business from Japan to the global market, and they have some cool things going on. ‘Takumi’, which literally translates to “artisan” in Japanese, has collected a very stylized assortment of products that blend the old and new.
I’ve never been one for fancy coffee, no grande half frappe double cap mocha… whatever. I like it pure and simple, I like to taste the brown! The description from this special ice’d coffee cup left my mouth salivating.
Takumi Japan has found something special with this next collection of wood tech accessories; from flash drives to keyboards. I image some ancient steampunk land of copper and bamboo about to spring up around computer’s made with steam power and a vacuum tube mail system. These are super cool and I want them all!
