Ok, lets get this out – I know, the video is longer than 60 seconds. I started this video series under the title 7 days in 60 seconds, and I still like the way it sounds, but I’ve yearned to do videos of various length. So there, meh.
Here’s the video.

I picked this track because it’s just speaks to my current condition. I feel very aimless, and haunted right now, and as much as I want to get up early I’m in bed till 10, 11, noon much of the week.
The Extended version. This all, actually happened a while ago, more than a month. I’ve been in a funk lately, and haven’t been doing these videos, because they actually affect me. But I decided I needed to start doing them again.
A while back my friend Brynna was robbed, not by a stranger, but by her ex-roommate. This lady broke into Brynna’s place and took everything, and maliciously. She made a point to tear down drawings off her wall, and take journals, and her most personal stuff, as well as just about everything else.
So with her birthday looming, we threw her a party and brought her stuff to replace what was taken. Amanda and I opted to create a box of office supplies, as that’s always useful to have. I also gave her this painting.
That’s actually almost actual size. It hung in two different galleries, so now it can hang on her wall. It’s actually one of my favorite pieces I’ve done.
Next up is a promo piece from youtubes ‘The Receptionist’ Travis Betz, who was on my podcast ‘Pizza Games and Zombies‘. We played Ticket to Ride and had a really good time. Definitely one of the best shows to date.
Not to long after that we packed up and flew off to Michigan, to observe Amanda’s uncle’s funeral. I’m really, really saddened that I never got to meet him in person. We talked very very briefly via skype at Christmas. But it was basically a virtual hello. I know he was an important figure in her life, and it bothers me that I couldn’t get to know him. Much like I’m often very sad that Amanda will never get to know my dad.
Much like in the picture, no matter how gray, there’s always some light. A small fleck of blue sky peaking through, as I got to reconnect with my good friend Chris “Monkus” Rainone. I haven’t seen him in a few years, as he moved from LA to MI. He’s a pretty inspiring artist/photographer and he seems to do a good job at maintaining his creativity while using it to pay his bills.
He has a few new pieces including the Fannequin in the video, and this cool chess set made out of nuts and bolts and such.
That was pretty much the gist of it, and then we came back to LA, where I’m still trying to get settled on my own life.
Leave me a comment if Fall makes you feel listless and nostalgic!
